Trauma informed Yin Yoga
This class is great for everyone. I specialize in trauma sensitive & trauma informed yoga, so it is safe for survivors and those who are healing, as well as those seeking balance to their active lifestyle. Yin is a more relaxed, grounding practice that will allow you to focus on your breath, mind, body and soul. It targets the deep connective tissues like your facia, joints, ligaments and bones. Most poses are usually held 3-5 minutes and are practiced seated or lying down. It is also a slow more meditative practice, which will allow you space to turn inward, and notice any thoughts and physical sensations happening in your body. I hope to help you find stillness &/or your personal story in each pose.💗
“Yin ON the Lake”:
This class has all the same benefits as in Lake Effects Yin, and on top of that we add the elements of water and nature. We do this practice on the Lake, on floating docks.
What is trauma informed yoga?
Trauma informed yoga is an approach to create a safe and supportive space for survivors to heal. When teaching, I intentionally use invitational language in attempt to make the practice more of a choice that feels safe to each individual based off of their own personal journey. The focus is about students reconnecting with their bodies and breath while moving through the poses, more importantly then mastering the exact pose.
